BSG was founded by recruitment veterans Clark Waterfall and Ralph
Protsik around these organizing themes:
- Technology specialization: Know the technology
sector and its related industries. Know the players. Read the
journals. Attend the conferences. Provide not just people but
guidance to clients. Begin each search with a rich database of
potential candidates. Add value that horizontally-focused retainer
firms cannot.
- Leadership acquisition: Provide senior-level-VP
and above-leadership talent to our clients. Emphasize those qualities
in candidates that predict success-intelligence, "eductive
reasoning," nimbleness, persistence, and visionary thinking.
Evaluate candidates face-to-face to determine leadership attributes
and cultural fit.
- Startup focus: Operate on "e-time."
Look for leaders who will thrive in an unstructured environment.
Recognize and adapt to the special needs of early stage companies.
Offer suggestions for funding, partnerships, and overall hiring
and retention strategies. Champion a human capital partnership

through an after-hire onboarding executive integration and coaching
curriculum

client's vision, mission, and culture. Meet early and often. Communicate
several times a week. Work as a team to fill positions. Remain
accountable throughout the search. Keep BSG partners involved.

the best of what Internet and broadband technologies have to offer
executive search: online assessment and research tools, videoconferencing,
database search engines, project and candidate management software.
